Power Upgrade of Ringhals 3
Power upgrade at Ringhals 3 is carried out in two steps, from the initial 920 MW electricity output. The first step was implemented in 2007, when reactor power was increased to 108%. It resulted in an increase in electricity output by more than 80 MW. The last step includes implementing a new turbine plant, increasing the thermal power to 113%.
Within the project, Solvina is involved in:
Process calculations for sizing of pumps and valves in the feed water system.
Investigation of the changes required in the control systems.
Development and validation of the necessary tests required in the plant at the power increase and accounting for the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, SSM.
Dynamic simulation of plant behavior before the tests are carried out in the real plant, including load steps and in-house operation.
Management of test runs from the control room.
Analysis and evaluation of tests and reporting the results to authority.
